Is Yak free?

Yes. The current Android app is free to download and use. There is no Premium subscription, in-app purchase, or paid Cloud sync in this release.

Which platforms is Yak on?

Yak is available for Android first. iOS is planned later. Listening happens in the mobile app — this site is for information and support.

Does Yak sell my data?

No. Yak is local-first by default, with no ads and no third-party analytics SDKs. Read our privacy policy for full details.

Can I import subscriptions from another app?

Yes. Import an OPML file from another podcast app, or restore an encrypted Yak backup if you are moving devices.

Is there cloud sync?

Not in this version. Use OPML export or an encrypted on-device backup to move your library. Paid Cloud sync is a future option and is not offered yet.
