Is Yak free?

Yes — Yak is completely free on Android. No in-app purchases in the current release.

Which platforms is Yak on?

Android phones: Google Play, Indus, or GetApps. Fire tablets: Amazon Appstore. This site is for information and support.

Does Yak sell my data?

No. Yak does not sell your data or share it for advertising. Yak is local-first by default, with no in-app ads and no third-party analytics SDKs. Read our privacy policy for full details.

Can I import subscriptions from another app?

Yes. Import an OPML file from another podcast app, or restore an encrypted Yak backup if you are moving devices.

Is there cloud sync?

Not in the current free Android release. Use OPML export or an encrypted on-device backup to move your library. Yak does not offer a Cloud sync service today; if that changes, we will update the privacy policy and this site before offering Cloud sync.
