Account and data deletion

Publisher: TGC Network LLC · Public URL: https://yakplayer.com/delete-account · Effective: 23 August 2026 · No login required

This page explains how to delete your Yak data. The current free Android release does not create a Yak account and does not offer Yak-hosted Cloud sync. Your library is stored on your device by default; Android Auto Backup may create a copy in your Google account (see below). There is no Yak server-side library to delete today.

How to delete

You do not need to reinstall Yak or create a website account.

In the app (recommended)

  1. Open Yak → Settings → Privacy.
  2. Under Your data, tap Erase data on this device and confirm.
  3. That removes your library, downloads, listen history, queue, and other app data on that device only.

Uninstalling Yak or clearing app data in Android settings also removes the local device copy only.

On the same Privacy screen, Request account deletion (web) opens this page.

By email

Email support@yakplayer.com with subject Account deletion — Yak.

Say that you want your Yak data deleted. We can help with privacy requests and confirm that the current free release has no Yak-hosted account or library to delete.

Android Auto Backup

Android Auto Backup may include app data in your Google account when system backup is enabled. That copy is controlled by Google, not Yak.

Uninstalling Yak, clearing app data, or using Erase data on this device removes the local copy on this device only. It does not delete the Google Auto Backup copy. If you reinstall Yak, Android may restore that backup unless you manage or delete it in Android or Google backup settings.

What gets deleted

Where Deleted
On this device (in-app erase / uninstall / clear data) Subscriptions, episode data, downloads, queue, listen history, preferences, and diagnostic logs
Yak servers (current free release) No Yak account or Yak-hosted Cloud library exists, so there is no server-side library to delete
After an email request Personal information in support records that we can reasonably identify and are permitted to erase

What we cannot delete for you

Item Notes
Backups you saved elsewhere Encrypted backups or OPML files you exported stay under your control until you delete them
Android Auto Backup (Google copy) Uninstall and in-app erase do not remove Google’s backup of app data. Manage or delete that copy in Android or Google backup settings
Publisher or discovery services We cannot erase logs held by podcast hosts or directory services
Google Play purchase records N/A for the current free release — Yak has no paid download or in-app purchase. Any records Google retains are governed by Google’s policies

If we add Cloud later

If Yak later introduces accounts or Cloud sync, we will update this page before offering that service. The updated process will explain how to request deletion of server-side Cloud data and what information to include in your request.
